      White Oak is abundant in the North East Texas region. It has amazing tonal shifts from light to dark and when assemble into a surface it creates and beautiful array of colors. The application of the band sawn surface adds a linear hatch perpendicular to the the grain of the wood producing a cross hatch pattern when installed. This surface treatment was used in one of our favorite architectural project: The Catalina House by Rick Joy
